Tribute to Ioana Celibidache

It is with great sadness that we just learned of the death of Ioana Celibidache. She passed away on January 13 as the result of a cardiovascular event. We would like to assure Serge Celebidachi, his son and his entire family of our heartfelt affection.

During our last meeting with her in Paris in September 2011, she was happy and thanked us warmly for the tribute that we wanted to make to her alongside Elisabeth Furtwängler during the opening concert of our international tour at the Gasteig in Munich 27 September 2011. On this occasion, the Ambassador of France to Germany, Mr. Maurice Gourdault-Montagne was made a Knight of the Order of Arts & Letters in recognition of his career as a painter.

Our only memories of her are great ones ... Thanks for everything Ioana.
